İlhan Bettemir, MSc, is an exploration geologist with over 30 years of professional experience in mineral exploration, environmental geochemistry and environmental management. He is the founder and manager of GEMAR Environmental Laboratory and ENV Environmental Technologies in Türkiye, and GEMAR GLOBAL LLC in Uzbekistan. His expertise includes environmental geochemical investigations, mine waste characterisation, Acid Mine Drainage (AMD/ARD) assessment, geological sampling strategies, environmental baseline studies and water management solutions for mining projects. Over the past three years, he has been actively involved in mining-related environmental projects in Uzbekistan, supporting the development of local analytical and engineering capabilities. He has contributed to international mining conferences, including IMCET 2025, and moderated two technical sessions on smart mineral exploration and deep deposits at UIMF 2026 in Tashkent. His current focus is expanding integrated environmental laboratory and engineering services across Central Asia.

Supporting Mining Development in Central Asia: Integrated Environmental Laboratory and Engineering Solutions
This presentation introduces the integrated environmental laboratory, consulting and engineering capabilities of GEMAR Environmental Laboratory, ENV Environmental Technologies and GEMAR GLOBAL LLC, supporting mining and industrial development in Central Asia. Building on more than 30 years of professional experience and three years of project activities in Uzbekistan, the group provides environmental baseline investigations, geochemical assessment, mine waste characterisation, AMD/ARD studies, accredited laboratory testing, environmental monitoring and water treatment solutions. The presentation will highlight GEMAR's analytical capabilities, ENV's engineering and wastewater treatment expertise, and the ongoing development of GEMAR GLOBAL's laboratory infrastructure at Yashnobod Technopark in Tashkent. Particular emphasis will be placed on how integrated environmental services and locally available technical capacity can support mining companies, engineering consultants and investors throughout project development, operation and environmental management. The presentation will conclude with opportunities for regional technical cooperation and long-term partnerships.
